Promptly at 10:30 AM, the festive parade started at the Landsgemeinde square towards the festival grounds. It was kicked off by the Harmonie Appenzell music society, leading the procession with wonderful sounds. Following them were the central board of the Swiss wrestling association, the members of the Appenzell Innerrhoden cantonal committee, and other representatives from politics and the military.

Led by Arnold Ehrensberger, who secured the king title in 1977 in Basel, ten wrestling kings followed behind, each riding on a flower-decorated Rapid through the main street. Among those present were local Thomas Sutter, Arnold Forrer, Matthias Sempach, and Christian Stucki.

Following the top winners from previous years were the live prizes. The winning bull Alpstein and the five cattle were presented to the large crowd at the festival.

Behind the impressive animals followed those who made the festival possible. The 65-member organizing committee was accompanied by great applause on their way to the festival grounds. The festive parade concluded with a traditional Appenzeller choir.
