Invited to Austria by the Organization of Young Moroccan Leaders (MML) and Austrian Leaders (YPN), Mr. Azoulay met in particular with the Austrian Ministers of Europe and the Constitution (Katerine Edtstadler), of the Economy (Martin Kocher), of Women and Integration (Susanne Raab) and of Youth (Claudia Plakolm).

During these working sessions, the Advisor to HM the King highlighted “the coherence, the specificity and the social modernity of the social project implemented by Morocco.”

“A project that our partners would be well advised to take the right measure of, with reason and objectivity, particularly with regard to the place given to pluralism in all its diversity and the richness of its complexity” stressed Mr. Azoulay, recalling that Morocco is celebrating at the end of February 2023, the 240th anniversary of the establishment of its diplomatic relations with Austria (February 28, 1783).

Welcoming the official visit to Morocco of the Chancellor of Austria Karl Nehammer (from February 27 to March 1), Mr. Azoulay put into perspective the “historical depth of the contract of trust and mutual respect between the Moroccan and Austrian civilizations which, more than 2 centuries ago, were already authoritative on the international scene.”

“Authority which today knows another momentum and a new topicality when Vienna and the institutions which sit there make the choice for a whole week to listen to what Morocco, strong in the spiritual and temporal leadership embodied by HM King Mohammed VI, knows how to say and propose to others in the European, Mediterranean space and on the African continent”, he stressed while speaking before the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna, the Austrian Forum of International Relations as well as before the representatives of the Business Community.

Accompanied by Azzedine Farhane, Ambassador of HM the King to Austria and Nadia Bouaida, Chairwoman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defense and Islamic Affairs of the House of Representatives, Mr. Azoulay met with Heinz Fischer, former Austrian President and “long-time traveling companion” as well as with various personalities from the Austrian political scene.
