Michael Ohana is on his way to Ashdod Sports Club. The midfielder who is not in Maccabi Netanya’s plans talked to the heads of the club where he started his senior career and is getting closer to Ran Ben Shimon’s team, the Sport Channel learned today (Wednesday).
Ohana, who did not go to the training camp in Eilat with the Diamonds, was the most expensive purchased player in the history of Beitar Jerusalem, when he was purchased in 2019 from Po’el BS for approximately 2 million euros.
Expectations were sky high after Ohana told everywhere that he had supported the Jerusalemites since childhood and his desire to bring the championship to his home and garden, but again a serious injury shattered all his dreams. The midfielder returned to play after a long rehabilitation of about a year, but along with flashes here and there, the magic did not return and he did not fit the way of play of Maccabi Netanya both during the Bnei Lam and Ro Kozhuk periods.
The 27-year-old Ohana played in the Ashdod Sport Club for four seasons before being sold to Hapoel B.S. He participated in 77 games and scored four goals, but mainly led on and off the field.
