Group QWER has revealed their bold ambition to overcome ‘addiction’ with their new album.

QWER held a showcase to commemorate the release of their second mini album ‘Algorithm’s Blossom’ at Yes24 Wonderlock Hall in Changcheon-dong, Seodaemun-gu, Seoul on the afternoon of the 23rd. Members Chodan, Magenta, Hina, and Siyeon attended the event.

On this day, Chodan started off by saying, “This is already our third album, so we included songs that we want to give love and comfort to many people.” Magenta said, “We debuted in October last year, and this is our third comeback,” and “We want to show a new and improved side of ourselves.”

The title song ‘My Name is Clear’ was written, composed, and arranged by (G)I-dle’s Soyeon. Siyeon said, “When we were recording this album, (Soyeon senior) kindly gave me advice,” and “She’s our senior, but she was considerate of us and treated us like sisters, so I was just grateful. She gave me tips as a celebrity. They were great tips.”

Hina also said, “When we were filming the ‘Fake Idol’ music video, she came and taught us how to look at the camera and how to do it according to our faces and bodies.” She also said, “When we were recording, she told us to hit our stomachs and put strength into them. She encouraged us to work hard. Thanks to her, my vocal spectrum has broadened.”

The title song of the previous album, ‘Overdose’, became popular as a challenge on SNS, and QWER received a lot of love as they were the first choice for college festival bookings. Magenta said, “I’m grateful to those who gave us so much love. (At the college festival) I remember people singing ‘Overdose’ from the beginning to the end and there were people who sang along with us on the instrumental parts.” He added, “It made me want to work even harder.”

When asked if they felt pressured to make a comeback right away, Magenta replied, “We strengthened our resolve because there were times when we would practice at night in the practice room with the members and get tired and want to go down. Whenever that happened, we would play videos of ourselves excitedly performing at our old showcases one by one and ask, ‘Do you want to do it like this?’ to strengthen our resolve.”

He continued, “If I had to describe our album in one word, I would say it’s ‘growing pains.’ Our band has had many twists and turns and many different things have happened, but we wanted to show you guys our beautiful side.”

Finally, Siyeon said about her goal for the new album, “I hope it will rank #1, higher than ‘Obsessed’.”

Meanwhile, the second mini album ‘Algorithm’s Blossom’ is an album that contains the story of QWER forging a new destiny as a team with the keyword ‘flowers bloomed by algorithms’. The tracklist consists of a total of eight tracks: Intro, ‘Fake Idol’, ‘My Name is Clear’, ‘Let’s Love’, ‘Run’, ‘Hello, My Sorrow’, ‘Echo’, and ‘Outro’.

The title song ‘My Name is Clear’ is a song with a powerful yet lyrical melody, and contains a message of hope to overcome pain and move forward. It will be released on various music sites at 6 PM on the 23rd.
