The economic operator, El Hadj Hassimiou Diallo, tragically lost his life on the night of Friday, August 30 in Kignifi, a sector of the Kobayah neighborhood. He was assassinated at his home during an attack on his family by armed bandits.
El Hadj Hassimiou Diallo and his family were sleeping soundly on Friday night when a dozen heavily armed assailants, dressed in military fatigues, entered his house. The unrepentant visitors were looking for the money that the shopkeeper was supposedly keeping at home. It all started around 3am. The thugs took advantage of the lack of electricity in the area to carry out their dirty work. According to witnesses, there were at least 10 of them, they cordoned off the area, blocking all the exits to the deceased’s home, in order to dissuade potential rescuers. How they entered the house remains a mystery, since they managed to do so without breaking down a single door, before coming across the father of the family and killing him in cold blood: “We were sleeping, we were woken up by a loud noise at the shop. We thought it was Mamadou Saliou (the deceased’s brother). He called him, there was no answer. I asked him not to come out. But the attackers were already inside the house. I ran to get the girls who were sleeping in another room to take them to mine. We locked ourselves in there. I didn’t know that the attackers had caught my husband. I remembered that I had left him outside. In the meantime, he knocked on the door, as soon as I opened it, they pointed their guns at us,” explains his wife, Aïssatou Bobo Diallo. The attackers then ordered them to take out the money that they would keep at home: “I told them that there was no money in the room. When they insisted, I told them that the money was in the shop. They asked me for the key, I took out the little money that I kept in my room. But they were not happy, one of them told his friend to shoot my husband. He opened fire on him in front of all our children. He collapsed on the carpet. The same person asked his friend to shoot me, he injured my knee, it was God who saved me,” adds the widow, inconsolable. It should be noted that the attackers left with several phones.
El Hadj Hassimiou Diallo was hit in the chest and neck, he died on the spot. He was 58 years old. He leaves behind two widows and seven children including three daughters. He is from Kassa, sub-prefecture of Kouramangui, prefecture of Labé. His body is in the morgue of the Sino-Guinean Friendship Hospital in Kipé, awaiting an autopsy.
