The Chittagong phase of Bangladesh Premier League starts today Tuesday (February 13). In the first match of the day, Chittagong Challengers and Comilla Victorians are going to face each other at 1:30 PM. The toss has already been completed. Chittagong Challengers won the toss and decided to bowl.
Comilla Victorians are fielding English all-rounder Moeen Ali. Moeen Ali has been playing regularly for Comilla in the last few seasons.
The two teams met earlier in Sylhet. In the first appearance, Comilla bowled out Chittagong for just 72 runs. Later they won the match by 7 wickets.
Which four teams will make it to the top four in the BPL will be decided in the Chittagong phase. There will be a total of 12 matches in six days. Rangpur Riders, Comilla Victorians, Chittagong Challengers, Fortune Barisal and Khulna Tigers are fighting for the top four. Although Sylhet has potential on paper, they have to go through a very difficult path. Besides, there is absolutely no possibility of great Dhaka. So the BPL is basically five teams now.
There are cries of not having big scores in BPL. At the end of the Sylhet phase, the average run in the first innings was 149.7. It increased to 153.7 at the end of the second phase in Dhaka.
