Honda has confirmed the Indian launch of the Activa E model.

Adushi Okada, President, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India, said plans are afoot to launch electric vehicles in the Indian market. Accordingly, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India’s electric vehicle may be launched in India within the next financial year, he said.
Pictures of last year’s Honda Benley E electric scooter being tested near the ARAI Center in Pune have surfaced on the internet. While this model will not be released in India, Honda is said to be using it to test the battery replacement technology.
In addition, Honda’s subsidiary Honda Powerback Energy India Pvt. Ltd. is piloting battery replacement technology for three-wheeled electric vehicles in Bangalore. Various companies have already started to offer battery replacement technology. This service is provided by Bounce Company on a subscription basis.
According to current reports, Honda is all set to launch an electric version of its Activa model in the Indian market in the first phase. This model was launched by Bajaj Chettak, TVS. It will compete with models like the i-Cube and the soon-to-be-launched Suzuki Bergman Electric.
Subsidies are being provided on behalf of the Central and State Governments to promote the sale of electric vehicles in India. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman also said that the government was planning to promote battery replacement technology in the last 2022 general budget.
