The Departmental Commander of the Santa Cruz Police, Erick Holguín, regretted the statements made by the attorney for the family of the deceased Banco Fassil controller, Carlos Alberto Colodro, Jorge Valda, and pointed out that the lawyer only gives distorted and misrepresented information.
“I am very sorry for the information that the family lawyer is providing, totally distorted, misrepresented information. I understand that he is fulfilling the role of his lawyer, but the important thing is that we must be responsible and report what has really happened, I am not doing it at this time because we are still in the investigation process, ”said Holguín.
According to the departmental commander of the Police, at the moment, the institution is carrying out the corresponding investigative acts in order to clarify the death of Colodro.
“I want to tell the family lawyer, with all due respect, we are talking about a person who has fallen from a 15th floor. The circumstances in which he managed to fall are quite complex, the space in which he throws himself, or falls or is released, we are investigating that, so I don’t want to advance anything until we have things clearer. The lawyer manifests a series of situations, he has not participated in any procedural act to begin with. So, that means that he is not a suitable person to issue any criteria, all that he can issue are simply conjectures, ”he added.
Holguín also pointed out that it is still early to issue criteria on the investigations, since many elements still need to be elucidated, and that once there is certainty about the case, the police will report these advances through the Ministry of Government.
“The Bolivian police will only issue an official report through the Minister of Government once all the proceedings are concluded. At this time, I am not going to advance anything, there are still investigative actions to be completed, we are waiting for graphological, forensic reports, we have to establish the way in which the deceased fell, the unfolding of images to see if he was alone or if there was someone else. We are working intensely, it would be risky to issue any criteria on what happened, ”he said.
On Sunday, Valda pointed out that Colodro’s body had bruises and other injuries prior to his death, he also indicated that the handwriting and the way of writing in the supposed note that the deceased would have left, and that it was released by the Minister of Government, Eduardo Del Castillo, is not recognized by his family, and he questioned the way in which it was revealed.
