All these numbers reflect why Darío Gómez was labeled as ‘The King of Heartbreak’. Although he passed away in July 2022, his voice endures over the years, and his musical work remains the best in the Colombian popular genre.

Darío Gómez’s life will reach Canal RCN
The RCN Channel is preparing a biographical novel inspired by the life and work of Darío Gómez. Actor Diego Cadavid will portray the singer in his adult version, while Julián Zuluaga will play him in his younger years.
This production will also feature Yuri Vargas, his sister María José Vargas; Juan Pablo Barragán; Aida Morales; Julio Sánchez Cóccaro; Tatiana Ariza; Susana Rojas, among others.
The novel is already in the filming stage and will soon arrive on the screens of Canal RCN for Colombians to continue falling in love with the journey of the ‘King of Heartbreak’.
