The Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has stated that China is always ready to provide the necessary assistance as the Sri Lankan government is in talks to obtain another new loan from China.
He was responding to a question raised by Governor Ajit Nivat Cabral at a press conference in Beijing.
He said that since the beginning of diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and China, the two countries have been expressing mutual understanding and cooperation.
He pointed out that China has always provided much needed assistance to Sri Lanka’s economy and social development and promised that this process would continue in the future.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry secretary said talks on obtaining new loans from China were progressing somewhat and would be announced once final decisions were made.
