The Commonwealth Games is a competition between member states of the Commonwealth and its territories.
The Commonwealth Games are held every four years. 72 countries are participating in this year’s Commonwealth Games.
It features 19 matches including athletics, badminton, hockey, boxing, weightlifting, cricket and 8 para games.
About 6,500 players and team executives will take part in the tournament.
For the first time, women’s cricket will feature in this year’s Commonwealth Games.
This year’s opening ceremony will take place on July 28 at the Alexander Arena in Birmingham.

The 2022 Commonwealth Games will be held in Birmingham, UK from July 28 to August 8.
Players selected to represent India at the Commonwealth Games
The Commonwealth Games, which starts on July 28, will feature matches to select players to represent India.
So far, players have been selected for badminton, hockey, cricket, weightlifting, boxing and table tennis.

Twelve people have been selected for the boxing, including Lovelina. Mary Kom was not selected for the Commonwealth Games due to injury.
The Indian cricket team has also been selected for the Commonwealth Games.
Both the men’s and women’s teams have excelled in hockey.
Twelve people are participating in the weightlifting event, including Olympic medalist Mirabai Sanu.
There are 12 wrestlers involved, including Vinesh Pokhat and Sakshi Malik.
Who are the key players of India in Commonwealth Games?
Tokyo Olympics medalists Neeraj Chopra, Mirabai Sanu, B.V. The Commonwealth Games will feature Sindhu, the Indian hockey team, Lovelina, and world boxing gold medalist Nikath Zareen.
Women’s T20 cricket matches will also be held. The Indian women’s cricket team has been selected for this.
How many medals did India win in the last Commonwealth Games?
This is the 18th Commonwealth Games for India.
At the 2018 Commonwealth Games, India won 66 medals and finished third.
Table tennis player Manika Batra won four medals in the 2018 tournament.
At the 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi, India, India finished second with a maximum of 101 medals.
That was when India won the most medals so far.
India, who have generally excelled at the Commonwealth Games, have been in the top five on the medal list since 2000.
