Representatives of more than 15 communities in the municipality of Sonzacate, in Sonsonate, attended the council session with Mayor Marvin Sánchez, from the Nuevas Ideas party, and his municipal council, to demand that the municipality carry out projects in the town.
Some communities assured that for several years they requested the execution of works, however, they were not listened to, so they chose to demand answers. “For several years the municipal administrations came to promise us (works) but they were not carried out citing lack of budget due to the lack of the Fund for the Economic and Social Development of the Municipalities of El Salvador (FODES). Now, the same situation. We want to request that they listen to us and that they help us,” commented Antonio García, representative.
The representatives regretted that the opposition party councilors withdrew during the council meeting without attending to their requests. While others, they pointed out their discontent with the current mayor.
For his part, the mayor pointed out through his social networks that the lack of projects is due to the denial of votes by councilors for the approval of a bank loan that ranges from $4 million to be able to carry out the projects requested by the communities. .
