Aurangabad,

Former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has said that rain-affected farmers should be given immediate compensation.

Rain damage

Crops have been damaged due to heavy rains in various parts of Aurangabad. Farmers’ organizations are demanding relief for the affected farmers here. Officials are investigating the rain damage.

Meanwhile, former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray yesterday visited rain-damaged crops in Bandarpur and Degau villages in Aurangabad.

Uddhav Thackeray later said:-

Drought

The ruling Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s government in the state is a party-loving government. They make many announcements like torrential rain. But there is a lack of implementation.

Events should be celebrated. But are the people of the state satisfied at least? The government should see that.

The criteria for the amount of relief fixed by the National Disaster Relief Fund has not changed as per the times. The state government should try to change them.

50 thousand per hectare

The state government should declare areas affected by rain as rain-affected areas. Rs.50 thousand per hectare should be given as compensation to rain affected farmers.

The state government should start providing relief immediately without waiting for the crop damage assessment report from all areas to be submitted.

This is what he said.
