The auction for providing 5G spectrum services in India is scheduled to be held on July 26. Companies such as Ambani’s Reliance Jio, Airtel and Vodafone Idea have applied to participate in the auction. At this stage, Adani Group has also announced that it will participate in the 5G auction.

“The launch of next-generation 5G services in the Indian market is in full swing. In this situation, we are also going to participate in the auction for 5G spectrum,” said the statement issued by the Adani Group.

“We have decided to participate in the 5G spectrum auction with the aim of providing private Internet service with enhanced cyber security in airports, ports, logistics, power generation, transmission, distribution and various other manufacturing operations,” Adani said in a statement.

Fierce Competition:
A competition between Adani and Ambani is emerging after the Adani group is also participating in the 5G spectrum auction. Not only this, it also competes with companies like Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea in the telecom market. Central Department of Telecom should give permission for Adani’s entry into the telecom market.
In this auction, 72097.85 MHz of spectrum with a validity of 20 years will be auctioned. 600 MHz, 700 MHz, 800 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz, 2300 MHz, Mid 3300 MHz and High 26 GHz frequency bands are up for sale in this auction.
Adani’s target:
According to the currently released information, it is said that the Adani Group is applying to buy the C band (3.3-6.67 GHz) 5G spectrum. There will be intense competition among the three companies to buy spectrum in metros, tier-one cities and A-segment areas.
In the current 5G auction, Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel had a tough competition, but due to the entry of Athan Group, the competition in the auction is expected to increase.
