Especially on the men’s side, there are currently few spots to compete for.
It is indeed surprising how many national team runners have not performed well enough this winter.
Ansgar Evensen, Didrik Tønseth, Håvard Solås Taugbøl, Iver Tildheim Andersen, and Pål Golberg. The latter is at least guaranteed to compete in the 50 km, where he has a wildcard as the defending champion.
Among the men, as I see it, there is an open spot in the sprint and the same for the 10-kilometer classic race.
Among the women, there are several open spots, including in sprint. However,in the distance races,it is a certainty that the trio of Therese johaug,Heidi Weng, and Astrid Øyre Slind will compete.
Form breakthroughs for anne Kjersti Kalvå and twins Lotta and Tiril Udnes Weng may simplify the selection process. However, we might also end up with the 2023 World Cup winner, Tiril Udnes Weng, being a spectator at the World Championships. She, along with her sister, moved to Trondheim, but this may not be of any benefit.
