by times news cr

“Our country is experiencing an intensification of the implementation of structuring projects to ensure its economic emergence. The development of competitive logistics is an essential factor to achieve the targeted growth and performance objectives,” said Mr. Abdeljalil who he spoke at the opening of the 11th edition of the International Transport and Logistics Exhibition for Africa and the Mediterranean (Logismed), held under the theme “What logistics strategies face economic, geopolitical and environmental challenges?”

Furthermore, he estimated that many challenges will have to be met in a constantly changing world and in the face of successive shocks, noting that it will not only be a question of improving the logistical efficiency of the national economy, but also to meet new requirements for sustainability and resilience.

To do this, a strong involvement of all stakeholders is necessary, with the aim of promoting pooling which allows the outsourcing of logistics activities, to increase the use of new information technologies and to encourage the emergence of innovative startups in this field, he said.

In addition, Mr. Abdeljalil reminded the various players in the logistics sector of the imperative to be part of a dynamic of innovation and good practices to strengthen the agility and resilience of the sector in the face of technological and environmental challenges.

For his part, the president of Logismed, Ali Berrada, underlined that during the last four years, the world has changed, and that the logistics sector in particular is experiencing an unprecedented change across its entire value chain, citing in this sense the health crisis linked to Covid, geostrategic tensions, inflation, climate change and supply disruptions.

“Obviously, we do not have control over all the major upheavals in the world. We can only try to anticipate by proposing solutions and exchanges to learn, to understand and to be able to react and not suffer”, a- he continued, noting that such a context requires reinventing oneself and fundamentally rethinking the organization and functioning of professions in the sector.

For his part, the Vice-President of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), Mohamed Fikrat, indicated that Logismed offers a conducive framework for discussing strategic subjects, sharing experiences and expertise with a view to achieving lessons, innovative ideas and concrete actions to be implemented.

Logistics is much more than a simple commercial activity, it is a real engine of progress and development in the world, he noted, calling for continued efforts to improve its sustainability and efficiency with a view to shape a better future for all.

In this wake, he expressed his conviction that “close collaboration between the public sector, the private sector and third sector organizations is essential to meet the complex logistical challenges we face and to fully realize our economic potential” .

On the menu for this 11th edition of Logismed, which continues until May 9, are exhibitions, conferences and meetings.
