Waris Isa was arrested and taken to Warburton Police Station in Nangana Sahib District, Punjab Province, Pakistan, for allegedly insulting the Holy Quran, the holy book of Islam. In this case, a gang broke up and looted the police station today and dragged away Waris Isa who was in custody and brutally killed him. This incident has caused a lot of shock. The incident took place about 80 km from Lahore.

In this regard, a police officer said, ‘A mob stormed the Warburton police station and dragged out Waris Isa, who was arrested and detained for allegedly insulting the Holy Book. Then they stripped him naked, dragged him to the street and beat him to death.’

Geo News reported that the man, who returned after serving two years in jail, used his ex-wife’s picture on holy scriptures to perform witchcraft.

Videos of this violence are going viral on social media. Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has ordered action against those involved in violence and murder.

He also questioned why the police had failed to stop the violent gangs. The Prime Minister also directed the Punjab Superintendent of Police to ensure law and order in the district.
