Mumbai: Complaint of sexual harassment against Ganesh Acharya, a leading choreographer in Indian cinema. Mumbai police have filed a chargesheet against Acharya in the incident. The complainant is a 33-year-old fellow dancer. The woman had also lodged a complaint with the Maharashtra Women’s Commission.

In 2020, a young woman came to the scene alleging sexual harassment. According to the woman, Ganesh had asked her to have sex with him if he wanted to succeed in the field. According to the Times of India, she quit the Indian Film and Television Choreographers’ Association as a result of her refusal.

Mumbai Oshiwara police have completed their investigation into the case and filed a chargesheet. The chargesheet was filed in the Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court. Ganesh Acharya was not available for comment.

Ganesh Acharya is currently facing charges under sections 354-A of the Indian Penal Code for sexual harassment, 354-C for virulence, 354-D for contempt, 509 for insulting a woman’s dignity, 323 for insulting the peace, 506 for criminal intimidation and 34 for criminal intent. Mumbai police say.
