Dubai: Complaint that more than one and a half kilograms of gold carried in the flight was lost. A businessman in Pakistan who was traveling on a flight from Dubai to Karachi in Pakistan came forward with a complaint. He alleged that the gold he was bringing in his hand bag was lost. According to reports, all the passengers were searched at the Karachi airport but no gold was found.

The gold was brought from Dubai to Naurathan, a jeweler in Karachi. The Express Tribune newspaper reports that Muhammad Munis, a businessman, traveled with 1542 grams of gold. He claims that the gold he kept in his hand in the cabin of the plane disappeared during the journey. He informed the flight crew about this during the journey. The crew searched the entire plane but could not find any gold. After landing in Karachi, Pakistan’s airport security forces screened every passenger on the plane. 100 per cent search including bags and other items were conducted but no gold was recovered. It is not clear from the reports which flight the merchant was traveling on.

The trader had already informed the Customs about bringing gold from Dubai to Pakistan. He had brought back to Pakistan half the value of the jewelery he had taken to the UAE earlier. But the claim of the Pakistani customs officials is that it is possible that the gold was stolen at the Dubai airport itself. It is concluded that he may have boarded the flight mistaking that the gold was still in his hand bag even though he lost it.
