Cuddalore: The mayor and medical officers conducted a surprise inspection at Pudupalayam primary health center in Cuddalore following a complaint of guarding pregnant women coming for treatment.

There is a Government Primary Health Center at Cuddalore Pudupalayam. More than 300 patients come for treatment daily. Pregnant women are tested every Tuesday. Complaints were raised that pregnant women coming for examination were subjected to various conditions and guarded.

After that, Mayor Sundari Raja and Deputy Director of District Health Services Meera conducted an action survey at the primary health center.

All pregnant women should be properly examined and treated by the doctors and nurses there. They advised that no matter how many people come in a day, they should be treated rather than detained.

Doctors said there is a shortage of nurses in the hospital. For that, the mayor and deputy director said that they will take action.
