Title: Increasing Immunity in Children: The Importance of Vaccination according to SAIJAI

Date: [Date]

In order to ensure the well-being of children, it is essential for parents to not only pay attention to nutrition and hygiene but also to enhance their immunity. Recognizing this necessity, SAIJAI (attentive) emphasizes the significance of vaccination to strengthen a child’s immune system. For new parents who may be unsure of which vaccinations their newborns should receive, SAIJAI is here to guide you.

Vaccination Schedule for Children: From Birth to Elementary School Age

Parents often worry about the costs associated with multiple vaccines. However, the Ministry of Public Health provides these vaccines, which are recommended by the Subcommittee on Immunization, to fortify a child’s immune system. There are a total of 11 vaccines that protect against different diseases:

1. BCG: Tuberculosis vaccine
2. HB TB Vaccine: Hepatitis B vaccine
3. DTP-HB-Hib: Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis, Hepatitis B, and Hib vaccine
4. OPV: Oral Polio vaccine
5. Rota: Rota vaccine to prevent diarrhea caused by rotavirus
6. IPV: Injectable Polio vaccine
7. MMR: Combined Measles vaccine for protection against mumps, measles, and rubella
8. LAJE: Live attenuated encephalitis G vaccine
9. DTP: Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis vaccine
10. HPV: HPV cervical cancer vaccine
11. dT: Diphtheria and Tetanus combined vaccine

These vaccines are distributed according to different age groups in two stages: newborn to 4 years old, and elementary school age.

Infancy (Birth to 4 Years Old):

– Newborns require two injections: Hepatitis B Vaccine No. 1 (HB1), within the first 24 hours after birth, and Tuberculosis Vaccine (BCG), before leaving the hospital.
– At 1 month old, Hepatitis B Vaccine No. 2 (HB2) is administered to infants born to hepatitis B carriers.
– At 2 months old, three injections are given: DTP-HB-Hib1, OPV1, and Rota1. The Rota1 vaccine should not be administered to children older than 15 weeks.
– At 4 months old, four injections are given: DTP-HB-Hib2, OPV2, IPV, and Rota2.
– At 6 months old, three injections are given: DTP-HB-Hib3, OPV3, and Rota3. The Rota3 vaccine is not required for children who have already received two doses of Rotarix vaccine, and it should not be given to children older than 32 weeks.
– At 9 months old, Measles, Mumps, Rubella Combined Vaccine No. 1 (MMR1) is administered.
– At 1 year old, Live Attenuated Encephalitis G Encephalitis Vaccine No. 1 (LAJE1) is given.
– At 1 year and 6 months old, three injections are given: DTP-HB-Hib4, OPV4, and MMR2.
– At 2 years and 6 months old, Live Attenuated G Encephalitis Vaccine No. 2 (LAJE2) is administered.
– At 4 years old, two injections are given: DTP-HB-Hib5 and OPV5.

Elementary School Age (1-6):

– Primary 1 students who have not been vaccinated according to the criteria should receive the Combined Measles vaccine, Mumps, Measles, and Rubella (MMR), Hepatitis B Vaccine (HB), Live Attenuated Encephalitis G Vaccine (LAJE), Injectable Polio Vaccine (IPV), Diphtheria, and Tetanus Combined Vaccine (dT), and Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV), as well as the Tuberculosis Vaccine (BCG) if they have not been vaccinated or do not have a scar. Exceptions are made for HIV-infected children with AIDS symptoms.
– Primary 5 female students should receive the HPV1 cervical cancer vaccine followed by the HPV2 cervical cancer vaccine, with a minimum 6-month gap between vaccinations.
– Primary 6 students should receive the Diphtheria and Tetanus (dT) Combined Vaccine.

Vaccination plays a crucial role in preventing diseases among children with developing immune systems. Parents should take note of the vaccination schedule and ensure that their children receive the necessary vaccines.
