Sankaraiah, senior leader of Communist Party, passes away in Chennai

Comrade Sankaraiah, a prominent activist and senior leader of the Communist Party of India, passed away yesterday morning at Apollo Hospital in Greenway, Chennai due to poor health. His passing has left a void in the political and social circles of Chennai.

Following his demise, Sankaraiah’s body was taken to his residence in Crompettai and later kept at the Communist Party office in Thiagaraya town for public tribute. A number of prominent figures including Nakiran Gopal, actress CR Saraswathi, MDMK General Secretary Vaiko, and Minister Ma Subramanian paid their respects to the late leader.

A public tribute was held at the Communist Party office, where leaders from various political parties paid their respects. The outpouring of support and grief from the public was evident as Sankaraiah’s body was taken to Minmayanam in Besant Nagar, Chennai, accompanied by a rally of Communist Party members. Tears flowed freely as relatives and members of the public paid their final respects to the late leader.

Sankaraiah’s body is set to be cremated with state honors at the Besant Nagar Minmayan, with a procession accompanying his final journey. The loss of Sankaraiah has been deeply felt by all those who knew him, and his contributions to the political and social sphere will not be forgotten.
