Carolina Morales, a resident of an urban development in the upper part of San Cristóbal, said that she has been paying for Colombian internet service for more than a year, but last week for three days in a row she did not have access to the internet and despite his repeated requests to the company for information about the reasons for the service failure, he had not received a response, until last Sunday when he was informed that the company would not continue to functioning in the Andean entity, apparently. on orders from Conatel.

“When they told me that the Colombian internet was no longer working, I ran hard to search for other companies, because all my children, grandchildren and siblings are abroad and I do not communicate with them but through video calls. Being left without internet is completely disconnecting from my family, that’s why I installed the Colombian one, because there were no obstacles and it never crashed, even if there was no electricity my internet always worked . It is very expensive to install another one now,” said Morales.

The situation has been repeated several times with other operators, who have provided internet service from time to time over the past week. So far they have informed their users that the failures are “at the main provider level”, without offering further details.
