The image that is repeated every day that Girona plays as a home team with dozens of people watching the match from Palco dels Sastres de Montilivi has been generating for a long time concern for danger which involves accessing an area that is not enabled or has security measures. Apart from the numerous occasions in which they have thrown baubles that have caused more than one scare in the stadium. Faced with the risk that any day someone could rush, and the inability of the white-and-red club to control it because the grounds belong to the sports service of the UdGin recent weeks talks are being held to try find a solution.

Last week the Sports Department of the Girona City Council convened an internal meeting with the Mayor’s Office, Urbanism and Sustainability to see what their response capacity is, considering that the Palco dels Sastres is located between a green area, one private and one from the UdG directly influencing Girona. The option of putting up a fence was considered, although it is not considered feasible because there is already one and people have been breaking it to be able to access it anyway despite the danger it poses. Constant police surveillance was also ruled out.

The City Council will meet tomorrow with Girona and the sports service of the UdG to put all the alternatives on the table and thus find the best solution to a risk like this.
