The Azerbaijan State Academic Philharmonic named after Muslim Magomayev hosted a classical music concert “Baharın səsi” (Voice of Spring), dedicated to the Novruz holiday, Day.Az reports.
Under the leadership of the laureate of international competitions, conductor Mustafa Mehmandarov, the Azerbaijan State Symphony Orchestra named after Uzeir Hajibeyli performed soloists, laureates of republican and international competitions Atesh Garayev (tenor), Nigar Asgarova (soprano). Compositions by national classics were performed – arias by Asker and Gulchohra from the operetta “Arshin Mal Alan” by Uzeyir Hajibeyli, Suite “Azerbaijan” by Fikret Amirov, fragments from the ballet “Babek” by Agshin Alizade, “Walk” from the film “Dachnaya Season” by Khayyam Mirzazade, a waltz from the film “The Tale of the Caspian Oil Workers” by Gara Garayev, “Lullaby” by Tofig Guliyev, “Song of the Motherland” and “Gaitagy” by Niyazi, greeted with thunderous applause from the audience.
