On behalf of the Marxist Communist Party, a protest was held near the Chidambaram Gandhi statue condemning the increase in petrol, diesel and gas cylinders. City Council member Sangameshwaran presided over this. Municipal Vice President Muthukumaran took the lead. State Committee Member Ramesh Babu welcomed.
Demonstrators chanted slogans condemning the increase in petrol, diesel and cylinder prices. It was attended by many including city secretary Raja, senior administrator Musa, district committee Chitra, city committee Amutha and councilor Taslima.
Neyveli
A protest was held near the Kamaraj statue in the Neyveli Main Bazaar on behalf of the Marxist Communist Party of Neyveli. The party’s Neyveli secretary Balamurugan led. Mr. Arasu, a member of the District Executive Committee, presided. State committee member Velmurugan district committee members Jayaraman, Srinivasan and Mary addressed the rally condemning the hike in petrol, diesel, cooking gas cylinders and tollgate fares. Neyveli city committee members Amirthalingam, Murugan, Kumar Palanivel, Samuel, Punniamurthy and CIDU were present at the protest. Union executives attended. At the end the sweetheart said thank you.

District Committee Rajendran, Tittakkudi City Secretary Varathan, Administrators Mahalingam, Balakrishnan and Aravindan were in the forefront. The Marxist Communist Party (MCP) staged a protest near the statue of Srimushnam Kamaraj. City Secretary Krishnamurthy presided over this. Banduragan took the lead. District Secretary Prakash spoke on the demands.
