Easter passion

The frontier guards prepare for the Easter of Christ in advance: the clergyman attends a meeting of officers and ensigns, talks with them on spiritual topics. On the holiday, the fighters gather in the assembly hall and watch films of a spiritual orientation, the film epic “The Passion of the Christ” is especially popular, at which time they can come to confession. And already during the solemn night service – to take communion.

– Spiritual experience while performing a difficult and responsible service raises the military spirit, the spirit of brotherhood, the importance of family values. For example, some, especially at a distance, begin to feel love for their parents keenly, realize that they have been undeservedly offended, and come to the church to repent, – notes Father Evgeny.

Procession

Also on Holy Saturday on the eve of Easter, the border guards help to bless eggs and Easter cakes, and after the night service they carry banners during the solemn procession around the cathedral, meet the blessed fire from the Holy Land for the regimental temple. Every year on Easter days, the church at the border group is visited by the Archbishop of Brest and Kobrin John, performs a divine service, meets with soldiers, congratulates on the Great Holiday and gives Easter gifts. On this day, the border guards always have a special festive table. So this year, Archbishop John plans to visit and congratulate the border guards on Easter Friday, April 21.

Special areas

Each of the 19 outposts has its own priest from a nearby church. On Sundays and holidays, if the border is calm, the fighters can go to the temple. At the same time, at the outposts there is a prayer corner with an icon, a prayer book and spiritual literature. The holy fathers consecrate service places, military equipment and weapons, paying special attention to the border with Ukraine.
