An alleged case of “domestic violence” could end in tragedy; however, it is known that there was one injury. The confrontation between police officers took place in the Galapagos citadel, in Riobamba; Three National Police officers were involved in the “aggression” -two men and one woman-, one of whom even belonged to the ‘Guaranda’ District.
No one knows for sure what motivated the lawsuit, but the surprise arrival of the uniformed man, who provides services in Guaranda to his home, and finding an unpleasant picture had generated an anger that he could not contain.
Apparently, there was a confrontation between the two policemen -the one from Guaranda and the one from Riobamba-, and one was injured. After the brawl, the neighborhood denounced the fact to their newspaper La Prensa; then, about 12 gendarmes would have arrived at the site, who managed to control the brawl; however, there were no arrests.
Marcelo Rocha, commander of the ‘Chimborazo No. 6’ Subzone of the National Police, confirmed the fact, and said that the personnel took the respective procedure, and “upon arrival the aggressor would have left the scene of the events, (for which reason ) the search team was activated, (but) the process of flagrante delicto was not found; The police officer does not work in this province, but internal disciplinary actions have been initiated, as well as the authorities have been informed so that these cases do not go unpunished.” Rocha affirmed that if they are situations that affect the disciplinary regulation, they activate administrative acts.
