(24 News) Royal Challengers Bangalore batsman Virat Kohli was fined 50 per match fee for arguing with the umpire in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
According to details, Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s star batsman Virat Kohli has been fined 50% of his match fee for violating the code of conduct after arguing with the umpire during the IPL match against Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday. According to the IPL, Kohli was found guilty of a Level 1 violation under Article 2.8 of the IPL Code of Conduct. Kohli admitted his mistake and accepted the decision of the match referee.
What was the matter?
Actually, the controversy happened during the third over of Bangalore’s innings against Kolkata Knight Riders when Kohli was caught out on a full toss by Harshit Rana, which Kohli thought was a no ball because it was above his waist. He took a review for a no ball, but was ruled out by the third umpire as he was out of the crease when playing the ball, so it could not legally be called a no ball.
Angered by the umpire’s decision, Kohli had an argument with the on-field umpires before returning to the pavilion unhappy, with Kolkata Knight Riders beating Royal Challengers by one run after a thrilling encounter.
