Kottayam: Congress leaders clashed at two places in the district. The Congress leaders clashed in Vazhoor and Nedumkunnam.
In Vazhoor, DCC General Secretaries Shins Peter and T.K. The fight was between Suresh Kumar. The incident took place on Sunday. The two clashed after an event organized by the Congress.
In Nedumkunnath, there was a clash between INTUC leader Gigi Pothen and Congress block president Joe Thomas Paikkadan. Gigi Pothen complained that he was not invited to party events. This dispute culminated in a scuffle in Roderick. They were eventually abducted by locals and nearby auto drivers. Both later sought treatment at a hospital.
At the same time, the Congress leadership explained that personal issues had led to the beating. The DCC said it had not received any complaints about the Vazhoor issue and that there were no organizational issues. President Nattakam Suresh responded. He said information was sought when the news broke and the incident was being investigated. However, he added that a complaint has been received regarding the Nedumkunnam issue and action will be taken in the incident.
