Congress seems to be quite excited in view of the anti-incumbency in the state against the double engine government of BJP. In view of this, the party high command has sent three of its senior and very experienced leaders as senior observers to keep an eye on the Haryana elections and help the party. These include former Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot, party treasurer Ajay Maken and Leader of Opposition in Punjab Assembly Pratap Singh Bajwa. In this regard, a strategist of the party said that all three leaders are not only very senior and experienced, but they also have their own credibility in the organization. All three leaders come from three states bordering Haryana, Delhi, Punjab and Rajasthan. In such a situation, there is a plan to use their influence in those areas with the help of these three. It is noteworthy that Congress could not coordinate with AAP. AAP is in power in both Delhi and Punjab bordering Haryana. In such a situation, Ajay Maken has been kept. Maken was also the chairman of the screening committee of Haryana. Even though Congress is constantly talking about its direct fight with BJP in the state, but due to the alliance between JJP and Chandrashekhar Azad and AAP contesting on almost all the seats in the state, the contest is now going to be triangular and multi-cornered instead of face-to-face in many seats. On the other hand, people are continuously joining Congress from BJP. Recently, former BJP MLA Sukhwinder Mandi and Jaiprakash Gupta joined Congress. Mandi is from Barhra whereas Jaiprakash Gupta has been MLA from Karnal. Both these leaders joined Congress with their supporters. So far, more than 50 MLAs, former MLAs, former MPs, ministers and former ministers from BJP have joined Congress in the recent past.
