The 85th Plenary Session will discuss matters such as preparing the party to face the upcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections. Plenary discussions are the beginning of all the crucial decisions in the Congress.

The main agenda of the plenary session will be to dissolve the Congress considering the current situation of the country. 2024 general elections is the main focus of the conference. Meanwhile, the Gandhi family did not attend the Congress Steering Committee meeting
The Gandhi family stayed away from the steering committee meeting ahead of the Congress plenary session that started in Raipur from Friday.

The assessment of political observers on this matter is that this is sending a clear message that Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge has taken hold of the party. Sources said that the Gandhi family’s absence from the meeting was a clear indication that Kharge had been given full authority and did not want to send a message that decision-making in the party was influenced by the Gandhi family.
