Congressman arrested with fake gun at airport

A Congress leader from Kerala was caught with a buffalo gun at the Coimbatore airport. Subsequently, a case was registered under the Arms Act and he was arrested.

KSBA Thangal is the Deputy Chairman of the Palakkad District Congress Committee of the State of Kerala. He arrived at the Coimbatore airport this morning to fly to Bangalore. He had planned to go to Amritsar via Bangalore. His belongings were searched by the Federal Industrial Security Force.

The bag he was carrying was found to be rusty with an old pistol and seven bullets. Following this, the Central Industrial Security Force investigated the gun and handed him over to the Peelamedu Police. He was questioned by police and it was revealed that he did not have a firearm license.

During the interrogation from 8 am to 6 pm, the Kerala Congress leader was arrested by the Peelamedu police under the Arms Act.
