Kochi: The police said that the phone seized from actor Dileep in the case of conspiring to endanger the officers investigating the case of attacking the actress has crucial information. Police seized the phone for inspection. The phone also contained information from a mobile phone that Dileep had personally sent to a private lab in Mumbai for testing.
The team had received a copy of the scientific report submitted to the Aluva Magistrate’s Court.
The crime branch found several pieces of evidence linking the conspiracy and the actress’ assault case to the report. Dileep will be questioned again on the basis of new information. Investigators have found that many of the mobile phones that were not handed over were formatted. None of the phones sent to Mumbai have been filed in court. The Crime Branch has concluded that the phone, which was used till 2017, will contain a lot of information about the actress’ assault case.
Dileep’s brother-in-law Suraj will be questioned on Monday in the conspiracy case. Brother Anoop has also been given notice to appear for questioning. The crime branch has registered a case against six persons, including Dileep, for trying to endanger the investigating officers.
