New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has accused the government of plotting to denigrate and promote the recently released film ‘The Kashmir Files’.

‘The Kashmir Files’ is a film directed by Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri and starring his wife Pallavi Joshi and Anupam Kher. The film was released in theaters the day before yesterday. The film has been critically acclaimed.

The film is set against the backdrop of the expulsion of Kashmiri Pandits from the Kashmir Valley in the late 80s and early 90s.

BJP-ruled states including Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Goa and Madhya Pradesh have declared no entertainment tax on the film.
