Composer D. Iman has filed a case in the Chennai High Court seeking action against his ex-wife Monica. D. Iman has accused Monica of hiding her children’s passports and buying a new one.
Iman, a musician who was divorced from his wife Monica in 2018 due to a disagreement, was allowed by a family court to visit his children. Iman then had the passports of both children. In this case, Iman’s ex – wife Monica has obtained a new passport, claiming that the children’s passports were lost. A case has been filed in the Chennai High Court on behalf of Cory Iman to take action against Monica.
In his petition, he said, `Action should be taken against Monica as it is illegal to purchase a new passport while already having one. Also need to cancel the new passport. I had lodged a complaint with the Chennai Zonal Passport Officer in this regard. But the passport officer who inquired into it explained that no action could be taken without a court order on the passport issued to the children. Iman seems to have mentioned that ‘Monica has obtained a new passport by giving such false information to send them abroad, in order to facilitate it with the intention that I should not meet the children.
Judge Anita Sumanth, who heard the case yesterday, ordered the chief passport officer, zonal passport officer and Iman’s ex – wife Monica to respond to the case and adjourned the hearing to June 9.
