Construction and Housing determines the completion rates of a road linking two governorates

The Roads and Bridges Department, one of the departments of the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Public Municipalities, confirmed today, Sunday, the continuation of the implementation of the project to rehabilitate the expressway between Baghdad and Hillah.

A statement by the ministry, received by the (INA), stated that “the department is still continuing to implement the project to rehabilitate the expressway between Baghdad and Hillah No. (1), Part 4.”
He added, “The total length of the road section is 210 km for the two-way lanes, with 105 km for each lane and a width of 16 m. It extends from the West Baghdad intersection to the Hilla-Kish intersection, where 10 km of it have been completed, while cracks have been scraped and treated for about 38 km.”
He pointed out that “the work on the project includes scraping and covering with a treated surface layer to ensure the durability of the road, in addition to rehabilitating the median strip, cleaning the tubular and box arches, and installing a protective fence along the road, in addition to furnishing and planning works with reflective thermal paints.”
