In the west of Moscow, the main stage of construction of a new depot “Aminevskoye” of the Big Circle Line (BCL) of the metro has begun. This was announced on Thursday by the deputy mayor of the capital for urban planning policy and construction Andrei Bochkarev.
“At the construction site of the future Aminevskoye depot, which will serve the BKL trains, the preparatory period has been completed – the builders have finished dismantling the existing structures, are actively excavating and have begun the main stage of work,” the vice mayor said.

The new BKL depot will be located on an area of over 15.7 hectares on the site of the former industrial zone on the western side of General Dorokhova Street near its intersection with Vereiskaya Street. Before the start of the main stage of construction, the demolition and dismantling of existing non-residential buildings and structures were carried out. More than 40 new structures will be erected on the territory of the depot, intended for servicing trains.
“The construction of the new depot will provide the necessary train schedule and create additional capacities for overnight stays and repairs of the BCL rolling stock,” Bochkarev added.

In addition, the builders continue to tunnel the connecting line from the Big Ring of the Metro to the depot under construction. According to the general director of Mosinzhproekt, Yuri Kravtsov (the company is the operator of the Moscow metro development program), most of the tunnel has already been passed. “The construction of the tunnel, which will run from the transition chamber between the stations” Aminevskaya “and” Davydkovo “, is carried out by the shield” Esmina “, almost 600 meters out of about 800 planned have already been covered,” he said.

Kravtsov added that the entire Aminevskoye depot and the Bolshaya ring line of the capital’s subway will be connected by three tracks – two tracks from the exit chamber of the Davydkovo station will go along an overhead flyover.

The Big Circle is a line of the Moscow metro under construction. It will connect the existing and under construction radial lines of the Moscow metro at a distance of 10 km from the existing Circle Line. In total, it will house 31 stations; at the moment, 12 BCL stations are open for passengers. The authorities expect to completely close the Great Ring Line at the end of 2022 – beginning of 2023. In total, the Big Ring of the Moscow Metro will be served by three depots: the existing Zamoskvoretskoye depot in the south and the new Nizhegorodskoye depot in the east and Aminevskoye in the west of the BCL.
