Inauguration Ceremony for Women’s Rights Program Held in Coimbatore District

Coimbatore: A consultation meeting was held at the Coimbatore collector’s office regarding the inauguration ceremony of the women’s rights program in the district. The meeting was presided over by Collector Krantikumar and attended by several officials including DRO Sharmila, Collector’s Interview Assistant Kokila, and District Supply Officer Gunasekaran.

During the meeting, the Collector shared some important statistics related to the Women’s Entitlement Scheme. He mentioned that a staggering 741,799 applications were registered in Coimbatore district under this program. Out of these, 281,942 applications underwent field inspection to verify their eligibility.

Various departments such as the Revenue Department, Corporation, Municipal Corporation, Rural Development, Agriculture Department, Horticulture Department, and Ration Shop staff were involved in the survey conducted for this program.

The Collector further announced that Minister Muthuswamy would participate in the inauguration ceremony, which is scheduled to take place on the 15th at Karpagam College in Echanari. During the ceremony, 3,000 beneficiaries will be awarded ‘Rupee Cards’ as part of the Women’s Entitlement Scheme.

Highlighting the importance of the program, the Collector stressed the need to provide all necessary facilities, including safety, health, uninterrupted electricity, drinking water, and medical services to the beneficiaries. He emphasized the necessity for all departmental officers to work in coordination to ensure the successful implementation of the program.

The inauguration ceremony is expected to be a significant event, providing a platform to acknowledge the achievements of the Women’s Entitlement Scheme and inspire further progress in women’s rights in Coimbatore district.
