A good four months after the launch of the Deutschlandticket for local and regional travel, consumer advocates are accusing Deutsche Bahn of still missing a discount option in the DB Navigator timetable app and in the online booking system.

“This can lead to customers paying too much money,” said Wolfgang Schuldzinski, board member of the NRW consumer advice center, to the “Rheinische Post”. Customers should be able to enter in the navigator that they have the Deutschlandticket because it states that they can travel free of charge on regional trains and S-Bahn trains.

The federal chairman of the Pro Bahn passenger association, Detlev Neuß, called it customer-unfriendly and very annoying that it is still not possible to enter in the DB Navigator and online that you have free travel on regional routes.

Deutsche Bahn wants to incorporate the required option into the system. “Our goal is that in the future our customers will be able to indicate directly in the booking process that they are holders of a Germany ticket,” the group said in response to a request from the “Rheinische Post”. Then only the long-distance transport portion of the requested route would be automatically calculated. However, implementing the project is complicated.
