On March 14, 2023, a delegation from Continental’s senior management paid a field visit to the headquarters of the Saudi Public Transport Company (SAPTCO) in Riyadh. This delegation included Mr. Ferdinand Hoyos, General Manager, Europe, Middle East and Africa of Continental, and Mr. John Andre Garcia, General Manager, Middle East and Africa for Continental, Mr. Dustin Gascoigne, General Manager, Regional Office in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Mr. Haitham Khalaf, Director of Sales, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Mr. Ahmed Al Sarhanh, Director of Operations and Development in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Mr. Sami Samarkandi, Marketing and Communications Officer in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Mr. Muhammad Bin Yassin, Director Senior customer accounts in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. To meet with Mr. Saeed Basinbel, General Manager of the Planning and Business Development Sector at SAPTCO, Engineer Mustafa Shalash, General Manager of Maintenance and Supply at SAPTCO, and Engineer Ahmed Mahjoub, Head of Studies and Planning Department at SAPTCO. This is to discuss joint cooperation efforts between the two parties and to follow up on the latest developments in the agreement that was signed for the second year in a row between the German Continental Company, one of the largest and best tire suppliers and manufacturers in the world, and the Saudi Public Transport Company (SAPTCO), a Saudi joint stock company that is one of the largest transport operation and maintenance companies. General in the world, it is also the largest public transport company in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in particular.
This fruitful agreement included Continental being one of the main suppliers of tires for mass transit buses to the Saudi Public Transport Company (SAPTCO). This agreement resulted in a number of important issues between the two parties. A plan of action was approved to prepare buses for the Umrah season in Ramadan and the Hajj season. The most important challenges facing the public transport sector with regard to tires were also discussed.
At the end of the visit, the two parties agreed to create a strong and targeted plan for after-sales services so that services are provided as soon as possible, with the aim of providing the best experience for customers and passengers. Not only that, but the importance of providing buses with a product suitable for the operating conditions of SAPTCO in Saudi Arabia was discussed.
