Krishna Teja has been appointed as the Director, SC Development Department. Krishna Teja had issued a circular directing the government to seek details of women employees who lodge complaints against officials. The circular said that some women employees were making baseless complaints and that in case the false complaints tarnished the reputation of the department, the details of the complainants should be collected separately and further action should be taken.
Following the controversy, Tourism Minister Mohammad Riyaz intervened and revoked the circular, seeking clarification on the rights of women workers and government policies. It was after this that Krishna Teja was replaced.
