Coimbatore: There is a road named G.D. in the Coimbatore Racecourse area. The administration of the Coimbatore Corporation put up a new name board in that area and mentioned it as ‘GT Naidu Road’.
In this case, Racecourse Raghunathan, a DMK leader from the same area, objected to the name board with the caste name of Naidu and obliterated the caste name with black ink.
Racecourse Raghunathan, a prominent DMK figure and film producer, said that the name board with the caste name had been placed in the town and streets of Tamil Nadu while insisting that the caste name should be removed.
His act has been condemned by various parties in Coimbatore.
