Controversy in Úbeda over the alleged “tongo” of a councilor in a draw

by time news

A video of a Christmas raffle in the Úbeda town hall has generated controversy and has gone viral on the networks. The draw is called The Push and the objective is that, to give a little push to small local businesses. The controversy lies in certain movements made by the councilor who draws the name of the winners, as can be seen in the video.

It is the second consecutive year that this same councilor brings out the winners and that It’s the same person’s turn, a relative of a city council member. All this has raised the question of whether what he has is just luck.

An urn and two prizes of 550 euros redeemable at the municipal market. The problem came with the second ballot that the commerce councilor took out after taking his hand out of his pocket. The question is whether he also carried the role of the winner, the same one from last year and a relative of another councilor.

The City Council supports its councilor and the transparency of the process. So much so that has put the video in the hands of the police for analysis. The provincial secretariat of the PP has requested the resignation of the councilor and a commission of investigation.
