Collaborate with a supplier of nursing and first aid products for the home, operating in the south of Great Britain, to market the detector it developed that helps alert an elderly person to a fall at home

The Vayyar company announced a new collaboration with Southern Care Maintenance, a supplier of products and services in the field of first aid and home nursing, operating mainly in the south of Great Britain. The collaboration, which will also include Vayyar’s distributor in the UK, Panacea, will focus on the marketing of the home detector developed by Vayyar, Vayyar Care, which alerts an elderly person to a fall in his home. According to Vaiyar, the cooperation will help it to establish an infrastructure of installations and technical service provision in the region through the support system of SCM.

SCM is a private company established in 1987 and provides services and products in two main areas: fire detectors and home nursing accessories such as nursing beds, bathroom accessories, harnesses and more. The company is active in Kent County, which also includes South London.

Elderly people falling at home is a common phenomenon all over the world, and is one of the main causes of injury to the elderly. In some cases, if the elderly person has lost consciousness or is unable to get up on his own, he may remain lying on the floor for many hours without being able to call for help, which may worsen his injury and in some cases even end in death.

Vayar’s fall detector is a home device, which can be simply hung on the wall or ceiling, and is used as a detector capable of detecting a case of an elderly person falling at home and transmitting a distress signal to a relative or a nursing person, who will come to help the elderly person. Last year Vayar received permission to market the fall detectors in Israel as well. It recently signed a strategic collaboration with the Chinese electronics giant Heiar, with the aim of marketing the detector in the Chinese market.

Vayar’s fall detector is based on the core technology developed by the company and is the basis of its various products in the fields of automobiles, smart homes, medical devices and more. The company has developed a radar-on-a-chip (RoC), which is based on an array of up to 72 transmission and reception antennas (MIMO), operating in high frequency radio waves (RF). Due to the many antennas, the radar is able to build a 3D 360 degree image of the environment without any use of a camera. Unlike optical means, the frequency on which it is based makes it possible to also receive information hidden by objects, such as discovering buildings hidden behind walls and following the vital signs of people who are beyond the wall.
