Earlier, doctors from all over the country have announced a complete shutdown demanding justice and security of those involved in the beating and assault of doctors at Dhaka Medical College (DMH) Hospital.

They announced this on Sunday (September 1) afternoon.

Earlier, the doctors of Dhaka Medical College (Dhamek) Hospital stopped the medical services by talking about the insecurity since morning and demanding justice for the attack.

Three doctors of the neurosurgery department were beaten up on Saturday night. The doctors gave an ultimatum to identify and arrest the culprits after seeing the CCTV footage. Otherwise they announced that they will go on strike after 24 hours.

In the midnight of that day, the injured in the clash between two groups from Khilgaon Sipahibagh area came to Dhaka Medical for treatment. Later, another group entered the emergency department of the hospital with Chapati. At that time, the authorities arrested four people and handed them over to the army.

Later, the patient’s relatives vandalized the Onstop Emergency Center of the emergency department of the hospital in connection with the death of another patient. Doctors have stopped the operation of the emergency department due to security concerns. They went on strike before the expiry of 24 hours of the ultimatum.
