The logo of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), which will be held in Azerbaijan in November this year, has been presented.

As Day.Az reported on Monday with reference to Trend, the logo and its content were presented at a press conference held for media representatives of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29).

It was noted that the COP29 logo incorporates the global challenges that climate change poses and the collective action needed to address these challenges.

The logo reflects such motifs as solidarity and unity, inclusiveness, and connection with nature. Additionally, the leaf-shaped buta featured in the logo represents Azerbaijan’s biodiversity, the power of natural solutions in adapting plants to sequester and store carbon, which are essential to the planet’s existence.

Personified in the form of air and wind, buta expresses the sensual balance necessary to resolve problems associated with the atmosphere.

Buta, shaped like a drop of water, represents the change in sea level. It reflects the urgent need to ensure the sustainability of water resources in the face of droughts and floods.

Depicted in the shape of fire, the buta reflects Azerbaijan’s hot spots and calls for responsible energy use for a zero-emissions future.

The two butas, which together form a circle, symbolize mutual affection and constant efforts aimed at the sustainability of the Earth, which is a common home.

It should be noted that on April 15, the first press conference was held at the COP29 General Staff in connection with the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, which will be held in November 2024 in Azerbaijan. Speakers at the event included COP29 President-designate Mukhtar Babayev, COP29 Chief Negotiator Yalchin Rafiev, COP29 General Director Elnur Soltanov, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer of the COP29 Operating Company Narmin Dzharchalova, UN High-Level Climate Leader Nigar Arpadarai, COP29 Youth Climate Advocate in Azerbaijan Leyla Hasanova
