Creating an engaging interview bet can be a fun way to break the ice and ⁢foster camaraderie between the⁣ interviewer and the ⁤candidate. Here’s a suggestion that balances lightheartedness with professionalism:

The “Two Truths and a Lie” Interview Bet

Concept:

Before the interview starts,‍ both the interviewer ‍and the candidate prepare‍ two true statements and one false statement about themselves. The bet⁢ is to see if they can guess each other’s lies correctly.

Steps:

  1. Preparation:

-⁣ Both the interviewer and candidate should come prepared with their⁣ two truths and a lie.

– Encourage creativity—these statements can involve work experiences, hobbies, travel, or unique skills.

  1. Presentation:

⁢- At the ⁢beginning of the ‍interview, introduce the game: “Before we dive into the usual ‌questions, I propose‌ a quick game of ‘Two Truths and a Lie.’ It’s a fun way for us to get to know each other better!”

  1. Gameplay:

⁣ – Each party takes turns sharing their three statements.

-⁢ After sharing, the other party guesses which statement is the lie.

– Keep ‍it light-hearted and engaging, and share a little‍ backstory about each truth, especially the ones that might spark further questions.

  1. Outcome:

– The fun can go on even⁣ further! If one⁣ party guesses correctly, they get to ask a fun bonus question about the⁣ other person’s experience⁢ or interest.

‌ -⁣ If the guesses are wrong, the other person‍ shares an interesting anecdote related to their lie that can lead to⁣ deeper conversations about experiences.

  1. Wrap-Up:

– After the game, transition back into the formal part ‍of the interview, but acknowledge the fun by saying something like, “That was a great way to start! Now, let’s see how your experiences align with the role we’re discussing ⁣today.”

Example:

  • Interviewer’s Statements:

1. I once met a celebrity at a coffee shop.

‍ 2. I have never traveled outside‌ my country.

3. I can play three‍ musical instruments.

  • Candidate’s Task: Guess which statement is the lie.

This interactive game not only breaks the ice⁢ but also encourages a more relaxed⁣ atmosphere, making it easier for candidates to⁣ be themselves during the interview. ⁣Plus,⁤ it can reveal interesting insights about personalities and experiences⁣ that might not come up in standard interview formats.
