The Employers’ Confederation of the Mexican Republic (Coparmex) strongly condemned the violence that shakes Sinaloa in the last three weeks, seriously affecting the social stability y economic of the region.

“The increase in violence that has occurred in the last three weeks has plunged citizens into a climate of fear and uncertainty, limiting their freedom and putting the lives of thousands of people at risk,” he said.

He stated that this violence has affected the local economy, since the temporary closures of businesses and the decrease in commercial activities in Culiacán and other locations have generated considerable losses, harming businessmen and workers.

The stoppage of economic activities has left many families in a vulnerable situation, increasing uncertainty about the future of employment and financial stability in the state. The seriousness of this situation is reflected in the official figures of the Union of Merchants of Culiacán, who estimate that the economic losses due to the violent events that occurred in the capital of Sinaloa exceed 800 million pesos.
