The Iraqi national boxing team player for juniors, Youssef Saad, won the bronze medal for the (63) kg competition in the Asian Championship held in Abu Dhabi, UAE, after losing the semi-final match with a score of 3/2 against his Iranian competitor.

The Secretary-General of the Iraqi Boxing Federation, Dr. Ali Musa, said in a statement by the Federation received by the (INA), “Boxer Youssef Saad lost the semi-final match after playing three distinguished matches that qualified him for the semi-final, the last of which was a points victory over his competitor from Chinese Taipei with a score of (4-1) to book a ticket to qualify for the semi-final round, which he lost to an Iranian boxer.”
“The promising boxer Youssef Saad is one of Iraq’s rising champions and has been at the top of local championships for four years in the cubs and juniors categories. He was put in long-term internal training camps to develop his technical and physical abilities under the supervision of coach Rafid Khalil and assistant Mohammed Jawad, as the boxer has special physical specifications that made him one of those who are relied upon to achieve more Arab and Asian achievements in the coming years,” Musa added.
